Who we are
Dream Wedding Network is run by Emma Whelan, a sole trader, trading as Dream Wedding Network ("we", "us"). We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the data controller.

What information we collect
We only collect what you give us when you use the calculator:
• Your answers about your wedding: location, month and year, day of the week, guest numbers, venue type, style, how much you plan to do yourselves, and what matters most to you
• The budget estimate we calculate from those answers
• Your first name and email address
• Whether you chose to receive our emails
If you buy a guide from us, we also receive your name, email address and order details. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health or religious details.
How and why we use it
Email you your personalised budget - You asked for it, so we need your details to send it (contract)
Send our newsletter: planning tips, real couples' stories, trends and guide recommendations - Only if you chose "Yes please" (consent)
Deliver any guide you buy and keep sales records - To fulfil your order (contract) and meet tax rules (legal obligation)
Look at overall, anonymised trends, such as typical budgets by region, to improve our tools and content - To run and improve our business (legitimate interests)
If you chose "No thanks", we'll send your budget and nothing else. We never use your information to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or share it with wedding suppliers or other businesses for their marketing.
We use a small number of trusted services to run Dream Wedding Network. They only use your information on our instructions:
Jotform - Runs the budget calculator and sends your budget email
Kit - Sends our newsletter and handles guide sales
Microsoft 365 (via GoDaddy) - Our business email, if you write to us
Zapier - May pass your calculator answers from Jotform to Kit, if you opted in
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where your information is stored
Some of the services above store information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US Data Bridge, so your information gets equivalent protection.
How long we keep it
Calculator answers and budget (if you said "No thanks") - 12 months, then deleted
Newsletter subscription - Until you unsubscribe; then removed within 30 days, apart from a note of your email so we don't contact you again
Purchase and sales records - 6 years, as UK tax rules require
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us.
Under UK data protection law you also have the right to:
• Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
• Ask us to delete your information
• Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
• Withdraw your consent at any time

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy if how we use your information changes, for example if we add new services. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects you, we'll email you.
